Where is my data stored? Only on your device, in a database inside the app. Nothing is uploaded, and no one else — including us — can read it.
I deleted the app / got a new phone and my data is gone. That is expected, and it cannot be recovered. The app performs no backup and no sync of its own, which is the trade for storing nothing on a server. Whether a phone or computer backup happens to include it is decided by your device settings, not by this app.
Treat a Surrogate measurement you cannot afford to lose the way you would treat any single written note.
Why does the app ask me to re-measure the Surrogate every time I reinstall it? Because removing and reinstalling even the same Surrogate can produce a different height. The app keeps the history as an audit record, but it never silently reuses an old measurement as the current one.
Can I copy the result instead of reading it? No. There is no clipboard action by design — the value is meant to be read from the screen and entered at the control, so a stale copied number cannot end up in a machine.
How many saved setups are kept? Up to 1,000, newest first.
Can I edit the built-in tool list? Not in the app. The bundled catalog is read-only. For any tool it does not cover, choose Other / Manual and enter the height and radius yourself.
Does the app work without a network connection? Yes, always. It never makes a network request of its own.
This app assists with a calculation; it cannot see your machine, holder, workpiece, or program. Always verify the values and your workplace procedures before entering anything into a CNC control.
